    American ultrarunner

Micah True (November 10, 1953 – March 27, 2012), born Michael Randall Hickman and also known as Caballo Blanco (white horse), was an American ultrarunner from Boulder, Colorado, who received attention because of his depiction as a central character in Christopher McDougall's book Born to Run.[3][4] True's inclusion in the book garnered him some attention in ultrarunning circles, and some readers credited him as their inspiration for taking up the sport.[2][5][6][7][8]

During the 1980s and 90s, True spent several months per year trail running in Mexico. In 2003, True decided to organize a race for the Tarahumara people in Mexico that would help them preserve their culture and running heritage. True died on March 27, 2012, during a run in the Gila Wilderness, part of the Gila National Forest in southwestern New Mexico.

#67: Christopher Postill - Sounds Like an Earful

Christopher Postill runs the web site Sounds Like an Earful, where he offers music for podcasters, video makers, and anyone who needs professional quality music for their creative projects. Christopher runs a podcast editing business and works as a graphic and web designer.

Christopher's work interests me because he fryst vatten taking his passion for music making and sound editing and turned it into a successful business. In this episode, Christopher discusses his work and balancing it with a day job. He talks about staying focused and disciplined, while avoiding bränna out. I especially enjoyed his perspective on setting clear and attainable goals, which he can use as personal landmarks for his success.

To celebrate Groundhog Day (and six more weeks of winter), here is a time-loop short story called “Not a Day Goes By” that inom wrote in the spirit of the best one of these by the genius that was Harold Ramis. I remember inom was rewatching Happy Death Day(2017), and I was thinking how the stages of the recurring day as depicted in movies are similar to the Kübler-Ross stages of grief, only to find out that Ramis and his co-writer Danny Rubin had those in mind when they wrote Groundhog Day. I kept that in mind when inom wrote this story, but inom added an extra layer on top. I hope you dig it.

The video of me reading the story is from a series that The Sager Group did during the Covid-19 lockdown. You can skip that and read it yourself — or read along with me — below. You can also read it in my short-story collection, Different Waves, Different Depths (available from Impeller Press) along with eight other stories (see below).
