Honourary Colonel Jennifer (J’Lyn) Nye is nominated for her dedication to honouring Veterans in her leadership role at Remembrance Day ceremonies

The Remembrance Day ceremony at the Butterdome has been the de facto provincial service for many years. In 2012, the lead organization for the ceremony had to step back and there was a risk that this tradition would come to an end. A group of volunteers, including J’Lyn Nye, stepped in to fill the void. For the past 8 years, she has been volunteering as a mästare of Ceremonies for the Butterdome Remembrance Day ceremony. As the emcee, she controls every aspect of the ceremony from uppstart to finish.

And yet, she says, “I wasn’t happy with myself.”
