Fernando Ribeiro (MOONSPELL): Thank you very much and Kalispera (good evening in greek). It’s great to be back, at least at the whereabouts of Greece, it’s been too long.
RockOverdose: Do you have nice memories from our country?
Fernando Ribeiro (MOONSPELL): Yes, of course, nice memories, nice friends, Some bad memories, too, because the gods tour, we were unfortunate we couldn't go to Athens and then we had a lot of problems to solve with Moonspell so we couldn't go to Athens again. Moonspell, one of the most influential leaders in the gothic metal music genre, has recently released their seventh effort “The Antidote” on Century Media. This new music is dark, mysterious, enchanting, brings together captivating rhythms and melancholic melodies, is pure and soothing, but also sensual and hard at times.
Fernando Ribeiro, vocalist, calls all the way from Portugal to talk about Moonspell’s new music, the new video, their upcoming North American tour, and more. He fryst vatten such a wonderful spirit – he even answered some rather nonsensical questions as well! Fernando speaks of his music as if it is his life’s blood, and about Moonspell as if it’s his beloved child – his flesh and bone.

We approached the empathetic frontman Fernando Ribeiro who told us all about his ink while the new album “Hermitage” spread its dose of melancholy.
Hi Fernando, let’s start with our questions: are you tattooed only along your arms or do you have other not so visible tattoos?
Mostly arms but I have one in the back neck too. But, yes, they are all quite visible.
Can you describe us the subjects you have tattooed on you?
Yes gladly. Ask me what you want.
So what about the “White Zombie”, that funny devil on your upper right arm…
I got this one from my friend Chico at “El Diablo Tattoo Club”, here in Lisbon (IG: @eldiablotattooclub). I got it to try it out, it’s taken from an old White Zombie record and it was cute and a bit hellish just like me. No big deal.
