About
With her broad and varied repertoire, carefully chosen and never conformist, Martha Argerich has dominated the piano world since the 1960s. Endowed with a phenomenal technique, she has been able to put her personal stamp on the most demanding works in the repertoire, from Liszt to Prokofiev, and at the same time draw out all the keyboard colour for the musical worlds of Ravel and Messiaen. An impassioned and instinctively collaborative musician, she has increasingly focused less on solo recitals and more on chamber music and concertos, in fruitful partnerships with violinist Gidon Kremer and conductor Charles Dutoit.

Gidon Kremer (Latvian: Gidons Krēmers; born 27 February 1947) is a Latvianclassicalviolinist, artistic director, and founder of Kremerata Baltica.
Life and career
[edit]Gidon Kremer was born in Riga. His father was Jewish and had survived the Holocaust. His mother had German-Swedish origins.[1] His grandfather Karl Brückner [de] was a well-known musicologist and violinist in Riga. The boy began playing the violin at the age of four, receiving instruction from his father and his grandfather, who were both professional violinists. He went on to study at the Riga School of Music, where his teacher was mainly Voldemar Sturestep (Voldemārs Stūresteps). From 1965, Kremer studied with David Oistrakh at the Moscow Conservatory.
