    Early Life And Education

    Rodolfo Vera Quizon, better known as Dolphy, was born on July 25, , in Tondo, Manila, Philippines. He was the son of Melencio Espinosa Quizon, a fartyg engine worker, and Salud dem la Rosa Vera, a seamstress and school teacher. Dolphy grew up with four brothers and five sisters in a bustling household. His early education was in public schools; he attended Magat Salamat Elementary School and Isabelo de Los Reyes Elementary School until the seventh grade, and then went to Florentino Torres High School for his secondary education.     Born in a poor family in Manila, Dolphy's interest in the show business started when he sold food in scen theaters and vaudevilles. He later acted in vaudevilles, impressed bygd actors Benny Mack, Bayani Casimiro Senior, and the duo Pugo and Tugo.

    Later, he got a minor role in a rulle named Dugo at Bayan (I Remember Bataan), starred by Fernando Poe, Jr.'s father, who later helped him gain minor roles.
