    Thomas John Ellis (born 17 November ) is a Welsh actor. He first became known for playing Gary Preston in the BBC One sitcom Miranda (–) before achieving wider recognition for his role as Lucifer Morningstar in the Fox urban fantasy series Lucifer (–), a role he reprised in the Arrowverse franchise's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover ().

    Ellis was born November 17, in Cardiff, Wales. He attended High Storrs School in Sheffield, and played the French Horn in the City of Sheffield Youth Orchestra.

    He was married to Tamzin Outhwaite from – and shares two daughters, Florence and Marnie Mae, with her. He also has a daughter, Nora, from a previous relationship. He is currently married to American television and movie screenwriter, Meaghan Oppenheimer.

    He was known for playing Dr. Oliver Cousins in the British soap opera EastEnders and became famous in the UK as Gary Preston in Miranda.
