    Dorf is all about skateboarding and so far that's worked out fine. But now that he's in a new city, the terrain has changed.     Skate Freak by Lesley Choyce is an enticing growing up tale of a boy named Quinn who is surrounded by negativity and struggle. Skateboarding is his escape and the only place where he is happy. Skateboarding is why Quinn wakes up everyday, it is his life. With his mother gone, and his father jobless he is left with an unfavorable reality. He needs to adapt to his new school but he excels at skateboarding, not making new friends.
