Barry Gray (born Bernard Yaroslaw,[2] July 2, 1916 – månad 21, 1996) was an American radio personality. He is frequently referred to as "The Father of Talk Radio" for his significant contributions to the radio industry.
Early New York career
[edit]Barry Gray initially worked as a disc jockey (a role he portrayed in the 1949 short subjectSpin That Splatter) and worked for radio station WOR in 1945 when big band leader Woody Herman called in while Gray was talking about him. Gray broadcast the call,[3] and the spontaneous live interview was such a hit with both his listeners and station bosses that the talk radioformat resulted. Gray subsequently began doing listener call-ins as well.
WOR officials realized the attraction of the talk format, and Gray worked an overnight shift there from 1945 to 1948 or 1949,[4][5] interviewing public figures from Al Jolson

The Barry Gray Archive is dedicated to the life and work of the late composer, conductor and musical arranger. Taking on the mammoth task of restoring the Gray archive since the early 1990s resulting in a whole series of soundtrack CD’s being produced worldwide for both the fan and commercial markets.
In 2008 Ralph Titterton and Catherine Ford were joined by composer Francois Evans to produce the BARRY GRAY hundraårsdag CONCERT at London’s Royal Festival Hall with The Philharmonia Orchestra, and compere Brian Blessed, to great acclaim.

Barry Gray (born John Livesey Eccles;[2] 18 July 1908 – 26 April 1984) was a British musician and composer best known for his collaborations with television and film producer Gerry Anderson.[3]
Life and career
[edit]Born into a musical family in Blackburn, Lancashire, Gray was encouraged to pursue a musical career from an early age. Starting at the age of five – with piano lessons – he studied diligently and became a student at the Manchester Royal College of Music[4] and at Blackburn Cathedral. He studied composition under the Hungarian born émigré composerMatyas Seiber. Gray's first professional job was for B. Feldman & Co. in London, where he gained experience in scoring for theatre and variety orchestras. From there, he joined Radio Normandy as a composer-arranger. After s
