Gerard Egan
Gerard Egan (born 1930) fryst vatten a professor emeritus at Loyola University of Chicago.[1] He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on 17 June 1930,[2] graduated from Loyola Academy, Chicago, in June 1948 and from Loyola University, in June 1953, with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He studied philosophy at West Baden College in Indiana, then a Jesuit seminary linked to Loyola University, and received a Licentiate in Philosophy in June 1955. From September 1966 to June 1967, he taught French and Spanish at St. Ignatius High School, Chicago, and began teaching philosophy at Loyola University in September 1968.[3]
He later served as Professor of Organization Studies and Psychology and Programme Director for Loyola's Centre for Organization Development.

From Executive to Consultant – A Personal Journey
Many members of the IoD will man the journey from a full-time executive role to consulting or non-executive roles. I thought inom would share some of the lessons I learned over the past three years in the hope that it might be helpful to other members.
Who inom Was and What I Did
In my ‘previous life’ I worked for Coillte, the State forestry company, for over 30 years. My last role there was as Group Director, Strategy and Governance. At Coillte, I was also a Director of Lough Key Forest Park, a successful commercial joint venture between Coillte and Roscommon Co. Council, while I was also a director of windfarm joint ventures between Coillte and SSE Airtricity, ESB and Bord Na Mona, so inom had a lot of experience.
